IBC Reserach Facilities




The major research instruments of the Institute include: a confocal microscope, a flow cytometer, an analytical ultracentrifuge, MALDI-mass spectrometers, a fluororescence spectrometer, a CD-spectropolarimeter, an FTIR, an isothermal titration calorimeter, a differential scanning calorimeter, a gamma-counter, a carbohydrate analysis system, a Biacore system, stop-flow equipment, rapid-quench equipment, an X-ray crystallography system, NMR spectrometers including LC-SPE-NMR, an automatic vapor diffusion protein crystallization workstation and a 3D image processing graphics system.

The Biophysics Core Facility (BCF), located on the fourth floor, is home to several biophysical instruments, serving all users from Academia Sinica. Furthermore, The Institute has two research animal facilities, supervised by a licensed veterinarian, which provide necessary services for the animal-based studies of our investigators. In addition, the institute is responsible for running two National Core Facilities of the National Research Program for Genomic Medicine (http://proteome.sinica.edu.tw/). The Core Facilities for Proteomics and Glycomics host a range of high performance mass spectrometers, and the Core Facilities for Protein Production and X-ray crystallography serves research in structural genomics. These core facilities meet the highest level and quality of technical support needed by the respective scientific communities and they serve the users sponsored by the National Science Council.
